At he beginning of 2003 Alfred Berengena started recording drum sessions, most of the times for extreme metal bands with low budget.
His drum set went through a large number of national and international studios, and thanks to all that “hustle and bustle” he learnt many different ways to work with different engineers, producers, computer programs, microphones, preamplifiers, recording rooms and endless technical and human aspects…
In 2011 he moved all his material to what we know today as Your Sound Recording Studio, finding a space dedicated to his recordings, where he started to treat the acoustic of the control and recording room, obtaining surprising results at the recording room being perfect to record drums.
After this, he made a large invest in high quality microphones like Neumann, AKG, Senheiser, Rode and class A preamps like Neve, Api, SSL, Ruper Neve, Millennia… Soon Alfred becomes Symphony Artist from the Calofornian Company APOGEE, well known due to his quality audio converters, and it is then when YSR does a giant step having a perfect balance between the analog warmth of preamps with the Apogee feature AD/DA conversion.
After a preiod of time, Alfred decided to renew his drumset contributing to YSR with what we call “ the crown’s jewel ”: a DW Collectors Exotic Maple & Mahogany, one of the highest quality drum model that he has already tried few prototypes at the Oxnard factory in California back in 2011. This DW Exotic has placed YSR as the studio with best drum set backline all around the country. That’s the reason why the most claimed prestige from YSR is the sound we get with the drums with 6 room’s points (recomended by the Danish producer Tue Madsen) that gives the special color to his recording room.
At Your Sound Recording Studio we’ve already worked together with: SOZIEDAD ALKOHOLIKA, OBESES, PROFUNDIS TENEBRARUM, UNDEAD, EXQUISITE PUS, THE MURDER INDUSTRY, MISTWEAVER, SILVIS VENTUS, NIU DE CORBS, GOD MODE, GUILLES DE RAIS, REEK, AXCAPE, SHOHAI, CHILDRAIN… We’ve already recorded songs for TV, Radio and Videogames and edited different recordings made in YSR or different recording studios.
